With more than 18 years in the construction inspection industry, Michael Johnston brings extensive experience leading complex healthcare and large-scale commercial projects throughout California. As an HCAI Class A Inspector of Record since 2023, Michael has supported critical healthcare infrastructure projects across the UC Davis Medical Center campus, including the Replacement Hospital Tower, Ambulatory Surgery Center, Central Utility Plant, rehabilitation facilities, operating room suites, MRI and RF shielding installations, and fire life safety systems.

Michael’s background includes deep expertise in structural steel, reinforced concrete, MEP coordination, firestopping, and special inspections, along with leadership experience managing teams of several inspectors on active construction projects. His approach is built on collaboration, accountability, and maintaining high standards for quality, time efficiency, compliance, and patient-centered safe environments.

Throughout his career, Michael has worked on major healthcare and infrastructure projects including Kaiser Permanente Oakland, UC Davis Health, Salesforce Transit Center, and other complex OSHPD/HCAI-regulated facilities. Known for his strong field presence and practical communication style, he works closely with contractors, engineers, design teams, and healthcare stakeholders to help projects move efficiently while maintaining strict regulatory and safety requirements.
